Into a New Rhythm, Onto new Heights
The Troupe headed into a new season which proved to be much less chaotic than the previous. Josh Montfort, who had taken over director duties halfway through the previous year, continued directing the team, and the troupe found its new rhythm. Some troupers started the show season early, performing the ladders act at a Miss Virginia pageant in July. President Tristann Brown described the event as “a week of fun, fashion, and fabulous.” The Troupe’s numbers remained high this year, with a team of around 70 at Home Show.
The road show season was lengthy and filled, with performances such as the Fox 45 Health Expo, which the team had performed at for the past two years, the annual Hagerstown Community College show, and the Cherry Blossom Parade. They also had six school shows on the roster, and performed their traditional vaulting halftime show for the Terps.
The biggest addition to this year’s show was the incorporation of aerial silks. Three women performed individual routines on the silks at Home Show, and two women worked together to create a doubles silks routine. The silks remain a popular act among troupers today.
