2008-2009
In the spring of 2009, the troupe had around 100 members— one of the highest membership years to this day. They had to take multiple buses to each road show, account for enough costumes, and utilize the gym to its full potential. Head Coach Scott Welsh praised the team on its efficiency and the ease of truck loading and gym resets, and commented on the continued sense of tight-knit community despite being at the highest capacity of membership.
The team performed a full spring schedule, with a highlight of the season at the Verizon Center (now Capital One Arena) for a Washington Wizards game vs the Charlotte Hornets. At Home Show, Beam won the Dr. Joseph F. Murray Best Act Award for the first and only time in Gymkana’s history.
